Financial Institutions Branch Directory

The Financial Institutions Branch Directory identifies routing numbers and addresses for branches of all Canadian financial institutions.  These details can be accessed through the links to the PDF files below.

Information in the Branch Directory is drawn from the CPA’s Financial Institutions File (FIF) database and is updated weekly, based on information received from CPA members.  The FIF information is also available via FTP transfer or CD-ROM on a subscription basis. These formats offer enhanced functionality for frequent users and enable subscribers to upload the data files into their internal systems. For information about purchasing an FIF subscription, click here.

Tips for Using the Branch Directory
(PDF Version)
  • For each branch, routing numbers are provided in two formats: one for electronic payments, and the other for MICR-encoded paper payment items.

  • The Geographical List is organized by municipality.  Use it to find the branch routing number when the location of the branch is known. Consult the bilingual CPA Members List to confirm the name of the financial institution, if necessary.

  • Use the Numeric List to find the branch address when the routing number is known.

  • To search within a PDF file, and to set preferences for future searches, choose "Find" or "Search" from the Adobe Acrobat "Edit" menu.
