The Cheque Printer Self Certification Trial Period, which began on June 1, 2009, concluded on November 27th. The CPA thanks the major financial institutions and volunteer cheque printers who participated in the trial.

The Cheque Printer Self Certification Project now moves into the evaluation stage. During the evaluation stage, a survey will be circulated to each of the cheque printer participants as well as to the major financial institutions (Direct Clearers) who participated in the trial. The survey will gauge participants’ overall satisfaction with the Self Certification Program and identify areas which need improvement. Survey results will be collected until January 2010, after which time the CPA and its members will analyze the results and make a recommendation with respect to the roll out of the full Cheque Printer Self Certification Program. During the evaluation stage, cheque printers that participated in the trial (listed below) will continue to print their printer identification number on their cheques.  Testing will be conducted at the discretion of each financial institution.
